Perry Zang — Sr. Business Systems Analyst at MFS, building AI-enabled data products at the intersection of CRM, data warehousing, and orchestration. 9+ years in asset management. Now building toward the title that fits the work: AI Product Manager.
I’ve spent nine years doing the work of an AI product manager under different job titles — aligning sales, compliance, analytics, and vendors around systems most companies are still afraid to build.
The next move is the title that matches. I want to own the roadmap for AI products in financial services — the messy, regulated, high-trust kind. Not the demo-friendly kind.
A buy-side investment firm sitting on terabytes of research notes, earnings transcripts, and analyst memos — none of it queryable beyond ctrl-F. Designed and shepherded a core data product platform that turned unstructured research into a vector-indexed knowledge base, then layered an agentic system on top so portfolio managers could ask real questions and get answers grounded in the firm’s own thinking, not the open web.
A real-time integration gap: Salesforce CRM didn’t see live signals from Bloomberg and Refinitiv. Led cross-functional rollout of a Foundry + UiPath AI sync layer with Tableau dashboards. Trade efficiency up 25%; anomaly detection live in production.
Asset management, healthcare equities, private credit. The domains where AI is hardest to ship are exactly the ones I’ve been shipping in — with compliance, governance, and entity resolution baked in from day one.
The hard part of AI products isn’t the model — it’s stakeholder alignment, data lineage, and turning “the LLM said so” into something compliance, sales, and ops will actually adopt. That’s the muscle I’ve trained for nine years.
Looking for a team building AI products into a real, messy, regulated enterprise — ideally in finance, but the principles travel. Senior IC or first-PM hire. Boston, NYC, or remote.
